Ella Mae Paden, longtime resident of Beggs, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Glenwood Healthcare in Glenpool. She was 97 years of age. Ella Mae was born April 10, 1920 in Marble City, Oklahoma to the late John and Lou Alice (Perciful) Cockrum. She moved to Beggs and married Kiowa D. Paden. Ella Mae loved to cook and was best known for her fried chicken and chicken and noodles, but was famous for her chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed flowers, quilting and crocketing, but most of all, she loved being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, parents, two brothers, Houston and Fred Cockrum and two sisters, Bessie Points and Irene Tackett. Survivors include a son, Sam Paden and wife Sharon of Beggs, two daughters, Tommie Kula and husband Rick of Broken Arrow and Jerrie Griffin and husband Roy of Beggs, seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and longtime friends. A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Beggs Cemetery with Pastor Johnny Boyce officiating. Casketbearers will be Samuel Paden, Mark Griffin, Mike Kula, Brian Johnson, Garrett Kula and Parker Johnson. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Beggs.

Dovie Letruss (Brasher) Coleman, a longtime resident of Henryetta, passed from this life on Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Henryetta at the age of 94.  Letruss was born on December 4, 1922
to Otto Brasher and Olive Whitworth Brasher.

Letruss moved to Oklahoma from Missouri with her family as a young girl.   She attended school in the Henryetta area.  She met and married the love of her life, Harold Coleman on October 11, 1941.  Shortly after their marriage, Harold left to serve in the military and Letruss moved to San Fransisco where she worked as a welder during the war.  She remained happily married to Harold for 39 years until Harold's death in 1980.  Letruss was a longtime member of the First Christian Church of Henryetta.  She also loved gardening and working in her flower beds, and maintaining her home.  She loved traveling and vacationing with family.   Letruss was a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother and grandmother and she will be missed by the many people who were touched by her love.

Letruss is preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Harold Coleman who died in 1980; 2 daughters, Carol Coleman and Nancy Orms; a son-in-law, Robert Orms; grandsons, Brett Money and Scott Money; by two brothers, William Truman Brasher and Rube Milo Brasher; and by two sisters,  Fairy Ellen Pruitt and Clemmie Brown.

She is survived by four granddaughters, Heather Orms of Henryetta, Lauri Hall and husband Lonnie of Henryetta, Lisa Powell and husband Albert of Checotah, and Tammy Money of Henryetta; seven great grandchildren, Audrey Powell, Logan Hall, Lainey Hall, Kimberly Mustin, Amos Martin, Chase Martin, and Shane Price; several great great grandchildren; a niece, Diana Bowe; a nephew, Roger Pruitt; and numerous other extended family and many good friends.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church in Henryetta at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 2, 2017 with Rev. Jarrod Dummond officiating.  

Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.

Cathryn Rene Chadwell born Tuesday, August 20, 1974 to the late William Joseph, Jr. and Gertie Lamb in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Rene passed away at her home on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the age of 43. She enjoyed reading a good book and being outdoors, wither it was camping, fishing, or playing dominos. Rene loved taking care of people and she did that well through her many years of being an awesome CNA/LPN. Rene loved playing video games with her son and spouse. She was a great mother to her four children and an even better grandmother to her two grandsons. Rene was a terrific spouse to Kenny and was so fun to be around.

Rene is preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish all of her wonderful memories are her spouse

Kenneth Suggs, Jr., her children Gertie Chadwell, Freddie Chadwell, Joshua James Suggs, and Kenneth Suggs III, grandson Shane and Tristan all of Okmulgee and one brother William "Jay" Champlain of Welling, OK.
Private family services are to be held at a later date. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.

Rose Mary Mills was born on Friday, December 22, 1961 to the late Tucker Oswald and Ada Pearl (Brittain) Rogers in Sugar Land, Texas. She passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 at the age of 55. Rosie met the love of her life Greg Mills and later married on October 10, 1989.

Rosie took pleasure in picking black berries and pecans. She raised chickens and had a green thumb for her garden and plants. Rosie and Greg adored the time together riding on their motorcycle. She was so proud that she had her life time fishing license and enjoyed going fishing with her husband and son Michael. In her spare time she would crochet. Rosie's pride and joy were her three grandchildren.

Preceding Rosie in death are her parents, a brother James Rogers, and granddaughter Serenity Mills. Left to cherished all of the great memories of Rosie are her husband of the home, step-son Gregory Mills of Okmulgee, sons Jacob Lavern Linwood Mills of Okmulgee, and Michael James Mills of West Virginia, granddaughters Justyce Mills, Azzy Mills, and Adelyn Gale Mills, sisters Jeaneen Wayland of Tennessee, and Juleen Lee of Georgia.

A funeral service for Rosie will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 1, 2017 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee with Pastor Terry Wilson officiating. Interment to follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Wayland, Jeramie Rogers, Matt Neals, Gregory Mills, Michael Mills, and Jacob Mills. Friends may visit the funeral home Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 12:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.

John Gilbert Pullen, a resident of Boynton passed away Tuesday, June 13th, 2017 in Henryetta at the age of 74. He was born May 25, 1943 in Houstonville, Kentucky to Charles Pullen & Ethel (Wade) Pullen. He married Norma Sue Fowler April 3, 1970 at their home. He worked as a painter and was a member of the Painters Union Local #1895, also a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife Norma of the home;
One son, Sean Pullen & wife Jen of Portland, Oregon;
One granddaughter, Zahra Pullen also of Portland Oregon;
Also by a host of friends and other relatives.

At John's request there will be no services held.

Carol Hull went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday June 11, 2017 at the age of 82 years after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born January 21, 1935 in Oklahoma City to Loren and Xenia Timmons. She was graduated from Northwest Classen High School class of 1953 and attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater where she met her future husband JJ Hull Jr. of Beggs.

Carol and Jim were married on November 7, 1954 in Oklahoma City and made their home on the Hull family ranch in Beggs.

Their union was blessed with three sons James J Hull III, William Loren Hull and John Michael Hull.

She enjoyed attending OSU football games for many years with her husband, sons and good friend Joan Eaton.

The family built a cabin near Eagle Nest New Mexico where Carol camped with her family as a young girl. They enjoyed many vacations skiing and hiking in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Mountains; and Carol looked forward to the great shopping in Taos, Red River and Santa Fe!

Carol was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority at OSU. She was a member of the Okmulgee Service League, was a Pink Lady at the Okmulgee Memorial Hospital, member of the First Baptist Church Choir, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She enjoyed playing golf, loved to take bus trips and travel in the US and Europe.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Loren and Xenia Timmons, her husband JJ Hull Jr and her sister Kay Cooke.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Jim and Denise of Broken Arrow, Bill and Carol of Beggs, and John and Brenda of Broken Arrow. Seven grandchildren: Courtney Hull of Evergreen CO; James Hull IV of Broken Arrow, Chelsea Mayes of Edmond, Quinton Hull and Loren Hull of Beggs; Chris Hull and Patrick Hull of Broken Arrow; and two great grandchildren Xander and Jasper Mayes of Edmond. Also three nieces Cathy Damen of Broken Arrow, Sharon Young of Harrah and Teresa Springer of Bethany.

Carol raised her sons with a gentle, loving spirit but had a firm hand when it was needed. Her family and friends will miss her sweet smile and lovely laugh; but we know her final home is heaven as it should be.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Brookdale Assisted Living in Broken Arrow and Hospice of Green Country for their excellent, compassionate care of Carol.

A celebration of her life will be held 10:00 A.M.,Thursday, June 15, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Okmulgee with Dr. Dennis Taylor. Interment will be follow at Resurrection Cemetery 7500 W. Britton Rd, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Friend may visit the funeral home Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 12:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Family will be receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of Green Country, the OSU Foundation or a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
